About the PG Diploma

The Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Medicine offered in collaboration with our academic partner Christ College London is a unique programme designed to enhance the emergency medicine skills of aspiring EM physicians in the shortest possible time. Trainees will be exposed to real-time emergency scenarios in a simulated ER setting during onsite training, under the direct supervision of senior NHS UK consultants, who will assess each candidate’s performance and provide personalised feedback.

This diploma includes 120 hours of structured EM teaching, with 60% delivered through instructor-led online sessions and 40% conducted face-to-face at Christ College London, Canary Wharf.

Online Component – 60% (72 Hours)

  • Delivery: Instructor-led lectures via Zoom
  • Schedule:
  • 1 hour lecture every Saturday
  • 1 hour lecture every Sunday
  • Total Duration: 72 hours over the course of the programme
  • Faculty: All sessions will be delivered by experienced NHS UK Consultants

On-site Face-to-Face Component – 40% (48 Hours):

  • Attend a 1-week intensive training in London & Pakistan

h) Identification of Massive Pulmonary Embolism & Right ventricular strain

i) Ultrasound guided Intravenous access

j) Use of ultrasound in DVT

k) Use of ultrasound in Retinal Detachment, Intraocular foreign bodies & Subcutaneous Skin infections, cellulitis & Necrotising fasciitis

l) Right & Left Hypochondriac Sono anatomy & identification of Gallstones

m) Renal Track Sono anatomy & Identification of hydronephrosis in ED

8. Minor Surgical Skills in the ED include:

a) Incision & Drainage of abscesses

b) Wound closure using glue & steri-strips

c) Wound closure with sutures

d) Complex wound repair

e) Management of minor burns

f) De-roofing of burn blisters

g) Nail Trephine

h) Nail Bed repair & Nail Re-implantation

Final Assessment:

At the conclusion of the programme, candidates will undergo comprehensive assessment through an on-site examination:


Theory Exam Paper:

The theory exam paper will consist of 100 Single Best Answers and 10 Short Essay Questions.


Practical Assessment:

Candidates will undergo OSCE-style assessment in simulated emergency environments, covering 16 of the most common Emergency Medicine scenarios. These assessments will be conducted by senior emergency physicians from the UK, who are Royal College UK Examiners.
