Programme Director - Dr. Shumontha Dev Consultant in Emergency Medicine, London NHS Foundation Trust

Dr. Shumontha Dev is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at London NHS Foundation Trust.

Alongside his clinical role, he has been actively involved in medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He holds several key positions, including:

  • Deputy Director of Medical Education
  • Lead Foundation Training Programme Director at the Trust
  • Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London Medical School
  • Clinical and Educational Supervisor to medical students and trainees of all grades

Professional Contributions:

  • Associated with London Clinical Courses since 2013
  • Trained over 800 Emergency Medicine physicians for MRCEM and FRCEM
  • Founding tutor of the London Global Emergency Medicine Programme, supporting over 400 EM trainees globally
  • Serves on the Council of NACT-UK, representing the Foundation Programme
  • Extensive experience supervising and mentoring doctors in difficulty

Faculty Development & Training:

  • Leads faculty development programmes, including supervision and simulation-based training
